What do you put in YOUR smoothie?

If you have been following my blog, then you know I don’t wanna have ANYTHING to do with eating veggies. At all.
HOWWWWEVER, I am certainly open to trying new ways to incorporate them in somehow and my sweet husband found a way around it. He throws a bunch of vegetables into a smoothie but conceals the veggies with lots of fruit and some vanilla protein powder. hee hee I probably eat these smoothies 3-4 times a week and I love them. So does the whole family!
My husband is always looking for different recipes for smoothies so I told him I would take to my blog and ask my Surviving Mommy readers to see if you all had any good ones you would like to recommend. Looking forward to trying them!
Thanks in advance!

Like you, my daughter isn’t a big fan of veggies. She likes a few but she passes on them more often than not. We don’t add protein powder or yogurt to our smoothies (I don’t like yogurt or bananas in smoothies – everyone has their preferences, right?). My husband throws in fresh kale, whatever fruit we have on hand (we freeze any fruit that is getting too ripe and use them for smoothies) – usually berries, pineapple, grapes, either flaxseed or chia seeds, and a little sugar free juice to get it all going.

I would love to have more smoothies, I wish I had the time and a blender to make them.

I have to say my favorite thing to put into a smoothie is strawberries. But, sometimes I will be really bad and use Oreo cookies.

We love all kinds of smoothies. We like trying different fruits.

I love all different kinds of smoothies, although I am not a huge fan of tropical flavors. My kiddos favorite is definitely plain ol’ strawberry banana! 🙂

I didn’t start eating vegetables regularly until I was probably 22….and even then it was a challenge. So for starters: I stop saying I hated all vegetables. Up until that point I simply had not found a vegetable that I really LIKED! I started trying teeny tiny bits of vegetables. If I went out to dinner with friends I would ask to try some veggies off of their plate. Once I got over the idea I would order a new vegetable each visit and give it a shot. Even now I wish I ate more vegetables! They fill you up without “filling you up.” I wish I ate more broccoli! Ever seen what 200 calories worth of broccoli looks like? It’s the size of a grocery bag compared to 200 calories of a doughnut or other treats. (which I confess to eating too many of!)… so I wish I ate more broccoli!

I put all sorts of veggies in my smoothies now! I use kale and spinach mostly, but every once in a while I’ll toss something new in!
